In partnership with Câmara Municipal do Seixal, the Queer Lisboa touring program continues with a stop in the city of the Setúbal district. It will be taking place on 22 June, at 2:30 pm, in Auditório dos Serviços Centrais da Câmara Municipal do Seixal. We'll be screening the film "Between Goodbyes", by Jota Mun (USA, South Korea, 2024, 96’).
The documentary tells the story of Mieke, a queer Korean woman who was adopted and raised in the Netherlands, and her birth mother, Okgyun, who was forced to give her up for adoption due to cultural stigma and financial difficulties. The film explores the complexities of identity, a sense of belonging, cultural differences and the reconciliation of family ties.
After the screening of the documentary, there will be a moment of conversation with representatives from CIG - Comissão para a Cidadania e a Igualdade de Género and from AMPLOS - Associação de Mães e Pais pela Liberdade de Orientação Sexual e Identidade de Género, a debate on the themes explored in the film.
We invite everyone to be present, to rewatch, or discover, this film, and to stay for the talk.
